CRAIG TRACY!
Hi! It's Shen and welcome to my Corner! Today, I want to share the paintings and photography by unique artist Craig Tracy:
So can you tell why I said that he was a unique artist? (Hint: the answer is in the composition of the photograph/painting) At first glance, one may think it's just a beautiful painting or photo but that's an illusion. There are actual human bodies in these photographs, posing and acting as models. Its a human canvas that Tracy as a body painter specializes in. He paints on people and various parts of their body and poses them to create a composition. In addition, sometimes he will include a backdrop to complete the painting but his main focus is the painted body. When painting, he uses various tools and techniques including traditional brushes, airbrushes, his fingers, sponging, splatter, and dipping on his models. Finally, after he finishes painting the model, he then photographs his work to share with all of his fans!
In case if any of you were wondering about the title of this image, it refers to a project to save the endangered tiger's in China. Tracy, a lover of tigers created this piece to endorse the project and spread the word and therefore, since I am posting this piece on my blog, it would behoove me to not honor that intent. Therefore, if you want to check out the project for yourselves here is a link to their website. http://english.savechinastigers.org/ and of course, here is the link to Craig Tracy's website http://www.craigtracy.com/index.html. Alright, that's all for now. I hope everyone has a good evening!
