FOODSCAPES!
Hi! It's Shen and welcome to my Corner! I hope everyone's night is going well! #TGIF!:D
Now, believe me when I say that Fridays are amazing because it's the day we can finally let loose after a long week and catch up on some sleep, hang out with friends and even PARTY!!! Buuuut, for those who are just taking it easy tonight (like I clearly am) I'm just posting this for some easy internet entertainment. (So this was on my original blog but then I had to move, change the URL, and basically make a new blog but for consistency's sake, I decided to keep this paragraph even though I know today is technically Sunday and not Friday)
So when I was brainstorming for some ideas on what to post tonight, I realized that I was absolutely starving, which reminded me of this great artist who uses food as an actual art medium! Here is an example of his work!
Titled "The Great Wall of Pineapple," it was created by an artist named Carl Warner. Warner is a great photographer and does other photography work that doesn't include food, however this piece is part of his "foodscape" collection. "Foodscape" was a term coined by him to describe the landscapes that he creates out of various foods. (Landscape + Food) Typically, Warner's process for each piece is to sketch out the composition, decide on what foods will make the composition, create the landscape, and then, after adjusting the lighting using both natural and artificial lightning, he then photographs those real life landscapes. Warner hopes that his work will influence children to have healthier view of food, and lead to better nutritional education and healthy eating.
For more information on Warner and to understand his process a bit more, here is his link to his bio and official website! http://www.carlwarner.com/
