DISNEY!
Hi! It's Shen and welcome to my Corner! SO, my last post was about REAL objects (food) being used to create a fantasy candy land/foodscape world. In other words, (unfortunately) that world is made up! However, this time, I thought it would be neat to do the reverse and show you guys something make-believe that has been turned into a very realistic piece. Therefore, I introduce Heather Theurer. She is a mother of five, living in Nevada, and though she has no formal educational background in art, and yet her paintings have reached so many people from all over, even attracting the attention of popular newspapers such as USA Today and The LA Times. Here are some of her works! Bonus: because it's DISNEY themed!
"Elegant Warrior" - Mulan
"Love Blooms in the Winter"- Belle
"Ohana Means Family"- Lilo and Stitch
Aren't
her paintings AMAZING and so REALISTIC! If there existed a real Mulan,
Belle, or Lilo, I think they would look exactly as how she painted
them. Theurer has so much talent and skill to be able to envision and
realistically recreate these characters. I would also like to
point out that:
You
don't need a degree or to be formally taught to be an artist!
Theurer states that her paintings
are the products of years of observations and that through her own studies,
she has learned many things that couldn't possibly be learned in a
classroom. Therefore, I believe she is an inspiration to anyone wanting
to be an artist but simply cannot afford an art education, or believes that
they aren't skillful enough, yet. Theurer proves that
anyone who truly has a passion for art and works hard has the potential to be
an artist. Therefore, I highly recommended visiting her website/blog @ http://heathertheurer.com/ and taking some time to look at her other galleries,
including some more Disney paintings. You will not be disappointed!
Okay,
Shen signing off!
