INSTAGRAFITE
Hi, it's Shen and welcome to my Corner! Hey, so has everyone been watching the Victoria Secret Fashion show? Unfortunately, I'm missing it because finals! #lifeofacollegestudent. BUT, my blog is a different story. I always have time to post on my blog. Today, I want to bring attention to the Instagram account INSTAGRAFITE!
Instagrafite, like many of the art accounts that can be found on Instagram, if it is not an individual artist's personal art account then it's most likely an account that shares other people's creative works. But the thing that really stood out for me is that this account has a theme. The account post various pictures of street art, public art, and other works of art that can be defined as "graffiti." I love scrolling through my feed and seeing all the interesting art pieces that the account shares.
Instagrafite is also a really great way for street artists to gain notoriety and get their name known in the community since the account gives credit of each piece to their appropriate creators and the fact that the account has over a million followers doesn't hurt either. So if there are any aspiring street artists who would want to be featured on the account, I suggest that you definitely check instagrafite out on Instagram!
Anyway, here are some of the street artists they have featured and just a little glimpse into how cool this account is! (Also the credits that I gave are the credentials that instagrafite posted which links to the various artist's own instagram accounts if you guys would like to check them out too!)
The various different styles of street art and how people use public space to create their art and messages are always surprising, interesting, and inspiring. Sometimes street art especially when labeled as graffiti is considered to be negative. But to me:
It is a wonderful art form with its very own style that can just be as beautiful, and thought provoking as a painting in a museum.
